Welcome to iSAFE. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our mobile application and related services (“the App”). By downloading, registering, or using iSAFE, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Purpose of the App
iSAFE is a community safety application that allows users to report incidents, share safety-related information, and receive notifications regarding community safety.
Important: iSAFE is not a substitute for law enforcement or emergency services. In the event of an emergency, always contact the South African Police Service (SAPS) or your local emergency number immediately.
2. Eligibility
You must be 16 years or older to use the App.
By using iSAFE, you confirm that any information you provide is accurate and truthful.
We may restrict or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. User Responsibilities
When using iSAFE, you agree to:
- Use the App responsibly and for lawful purposes only.
- Report incidents truthfully and avoid submitting false, misleading, or malicious reports.
- Refrain from harassment, hate speech, or posting offensive content.
- Respect the privacy and rights of other users and community members.
- Not use the App to promote vigilantism or encourage violence.
4. User Content
You remain responsible for all content you submit, including incident reports, comments, or uploads.
By submitting content, you grant iSAFE a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, use, and share that information with relevant safety structures, community groups, or law enforcement authorities if necessary.
iSAFE does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of user-generated content.
5. Privacy & Data Protection
iSAFE complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.
We collect and process personal data such as your name, contact details, and location information only to provide and improve our services.
Your personal information will never be sold to third parties.

6. Notifications and Alerts
iSAFE may send you safety notifications, alerts, or updates.
While we aim to provide timely and accurate alerts, we cannot guarantee that all incidents will be reported or that notifications will always be delivered without delay.
7. Limitations of Liability
iSAFE is provided as a community tool, not an emergency response service.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of reports.
iSAFE, its owners, employees, or partners are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including reliance on information reported by other users.
8. Account Suspension or Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Provide false or misleading information.
- Misuse the platform for unlawful purposes.
- Breach these Terms.
9. Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, designs, and software used in iSAFE are owned by iSAFE or its licensors.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written consent.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after updates will mean you accept the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
